Continental grip

Many coaches constantly talk about the importance of holding their racket correctly. Different racket sports have different types of grips and in padel, the continental grip is the one that applies, the grip is also called "hammer grip". The grip is primarily used to be able to use the right technique in their strokes, but it can also help prevent and minimize injuries such as tennis or padel elbow. The continental grip can be difficult to get used to, especially if you have played other racket sports before, but also if you are completely new to racket sports. The "hammer grip" simply comes from holding the racket like a hammer, where with the right grip you only see the edge of the racket if you hold it in front of you with a straight wrist. Holding the racket in this way gives you a stable shot both backhand and forehand without changing the grip around the racket while minimizing stress on the elbow tendon, which in turn reduces the risk of inflammation.
